My YellowBird

“I write because it is while I’m writing that I feel most connected to why we’re here. I write because silence is a heavy weight to carry. I write to remember. I write to heal. I write to let the air in. I write as a practice of listening.”

    • Agree. I feel that what separates a great poet from a good one is their humility and total honesty.. That’s what we can relate to, and it’s hard to find a poet like her.

Also, I saw your username “SHE’S IN PRISON” and I for a few seconds I really thought Andrea Gibson was in prison! Lauryn Hill #2

      • Oh haha! Yeah my username is just because that’s the name of my blog.

And I agree. I always say that honesty, generosity, and bravery are the most important qualities in a poet.
